28-EX.

Standardisation of Parts on 28-EX.

(1) The balance weights were intact at 5000 miles.
(2) Sheet metal crossmember moved back. We have not found anything detrimental with regard to frame stability etc.
(3) Silencer Mounting:- Not as yet good enough, stronger bottom springs are required, the cups hit and chatter. The snout bracket broke, is too weak, the U. bend broke across bottom holes where bolt goes through eye of snout.

(a) Wider front brake drums - O.K.
(b) Bifurcated rivetting - not as yet examined.
(c) Fully floating servo - no efficiency as yet lost.
(d) Easy Brake adjustment has given no trouble as yet, but rear vents looking into as small grit can get into the aperture at the fulcrum pin, and prevent the release of brakes.
(e) Spherical bearing equaliser shafts - O.K. ✓
(f) Backed off 2nd. speed dogs, easier change has given no trouble.

All can be standardised with the exception of the silencer mounting.

Please note that the foot brake on the rear is pulled on .250" by the twisting of the axle all the time the car is running.

If you have a sketch or print of the fluid flywheel, will you please sent it me. A friend of mine here (French) would like to see a sketch. The Citroen 7 HP. coming out this year is to have front drive and fluid flywheel.
