Thanks for your note of May 6th.

I enclose some information from L. Swindall on the carburetter. I have shewn him your note re the spring but he thinks it should be possible to overcome the difficulty without using this with the bits he is sending you.

With regard to exhaust valves. We are sending you out some spare standard valves and also some salt-cooled valves. We do not want to use salt-cooled valves on production unless the standard valve will not do the job. Naturally, we do not expect any exhaust valves to stand up with pre-ignition. We would therefore ask you to obtain a value with these new exhaust valves without preignition before you fit the salt-cooled.

Preignition.

The fact that with two ignitions operated you get preignition so much higher is rather surprising. We should like as much information as you can give us on the subject. Here we find that the magneto ignition plugs usually preignite very much earlier than the battery ignition plug.

We are in communication with the manufacturers and will provide you with something that you can run on before very long.

Clutch.

We note your remarks.
