| 1023 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les.9/MH. {M. Huckerby} 15th. February 1938. C.L.Breeden, Esq., Messrs. Wilmot Breeden Ltd., Eastern Works, Birmingham, 1. Dear Mr.Breeden, Thank you for confirming the figures for bumpers and the steering wheel. We are now very enthusiastic over the FW.1110 bumper. Our Management have agreed to eyerolls and no badge for this bumper. We shall of course, require over-riders. We think that your 2¼" diameter eyerolls are too large, and are inclined to suggest 2" diameter. However, I have been in touch with R.R.Turner and he says your next standard size is 1½" diameter. I therefore propose that we should use 1½" diameter eyes for the bumper to FW.1110. I am enclosing a print of our Phantom III bumper which shows the type of over-riders now used on the FW.1110 bumper. These may be registered by Ridlington so that it may be best to use one of your standard over-riders. For the bumper bar FB.3613 we think the 1½" diameter eyerolls will be best and in about a weeks time we are hoping to send you a new drawing showing these. I should like to come over to see your various bumper ends and over-riders, also to have a look round your works. | ||
