JAPAN(Experimental Engine) III. - Re Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 9/T.18.1.31.

Now that we have made a start we hope to maintain a continuous supply of information so that the big pattern work detail drawings once put in hand can be kept on the move.

We attach herewith a statement showing the information available, and what is yet required with respect to these parts and we suggest to BY that as soon as he decides to put the detail drawings in hand, we should keep in touch, daily if necessary, by 'phone so as to know if and where the work gets held up. This would, we think, be of MUTUAL advantage.

At the same time, we are trying to keep in closer touch with R. {Sir Henry Royce} by sending him in advance where possible, rough sketches of projected design work, and interim prints of such work in progress, so as to save time in arriving at the final result.

All this will absorb extra attention, and we shall be very pleased to accept the help BY kindly offers. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} has agreed to take an extra man at Camacha(Henry Royce's office in West Wittering), and we can accommodate the other at Elmstead(Henry Royce's home in West Wittering).
