THE SOCIETY OF MOTOR MANUFACTURERS & TRADERS LTD THE MOTOR TRADE ASSOCIATION Dear Sirs, Ref. Expl: Dept. HS {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Em2/LG. With further reference to your letter of the 2nd. of June, reference as above, we have now gone carefully into the question of making the filter in accordance with your recommendations. We find that we can make the top in duralumin which of course will considerably reduce the weight. Moreover we can fit 70 discs instead of 60 which is the normal, and this will appreciably increase the area in the filter. The gap between the discs can be set at .05 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m. We think that you will agree that increasing the number of discs will be preferable to increasing the diameter of the discs as the latter would mean redesigning the filter entirely and making new tools etc. If you would like a filter with 70 discs instead of 60 for testing purposes we should be very happy to send one along | ||
