[STAMP: RECEIVED 24 OCT 1919]
Dear Sirs,
With reference to the speedometer returned with your letter of the 24th ult., we have carefully tested the instrument, and find it is quite in order, and the mileage working in the correct direction if driven off the cardan shaft with the straight belt.
With regard to the instrument reading high, we think this is probably due to the adjustment of the fittings, but if you will kindly let us know to what extent it is out, we would then let you know exactly what diameter to make the pulley.
Yours faithfully,
for ELLIOTT BROTHERS (LONDON) LIMITED.,
A W A Rylands
Director.
