Max. free flow from pumps. 160 240

Car on level road.

Flow through ball drain. 4.0 12.0
Flow from drain in top of lid. {A. J. Lidsey} 89.5 124.0
Flow down pump spindle. negligible 1 drop in 4 secs.

When the ball drain is stopped
fuel runs through No.3 port in
each case, at a rate of 4.0 12.0

Car on 1 in 3 gradient.

Flow through ball drain. 0 0
Flow from drain in top of lid. {A. J. Lidsey} 77.2 124.0
Flow through No.3 port. 8.7 9
No.4 port. 0 1

* These figures of 9 and 1 pt/hr. for flows through Nos.3 and 4
ports respectively are only approximate. Since the floor of
the pipe is flat any slight variation in its surface will
give slightly varying results with different pipes.
