Life Test.

For this test the batteries were connected in series and tested under a schedule supplied by the makers.

The Dagenite 6HZD13 battery failed after 71 cycles, and the Exide 6XCMR13 after 81 cycles.

As the Dagenite battery had the greater capacity at the start it indicates a rapid increase in the negative weakness shown up in the performance tests. As the surface area of the plates is greater than that of the Exide a greater amount of active material was probably lost.

Our conclusion is that for our purposes the Exide is the better battery.
