As a supplement to Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1/ML.1.5.40. we send you a few M.E.P. curves between the Aspin engine and other naturally aspirated engines (4-stroke.) with which we are familiar. These really are only a measure of the breathing of the engines and not of detonation, since exact information about the fuel is not available. We can say, however, that curve No: 5. would have been obtained without detonation down to 1,000 r.p.m. on 87 octane. We actually listened to the Aspin engine P.T.O. | ||
