File W HAIN 25G Show B.60 ENGINE FITTED IN WRAITH 111 CHASSIS - ENGINE CONTROLS, INLET PIPES AND CARBURETTER. Herewith please receive :- E.CD.1008 Engine Controls - B.60 Engine in Wraith 111 chassis. Most of the control details are standard Wraith 111 parts, as it is intended to use the Wraith 111 carburetter and inlet pipes for this job. Sheet steel adaptor plates are shown for fixing the accelerator control countershaft and also the throttle bell crank to the crankcase. An existing experimental adaptor flange Ex.32521 is used for the fixing of the standard Wraith 111 induction manifold to the cylinder head, also a 25/30 HP. insulating washer E.60779 is used to raise the position of the carburetter and air silencer to clear the rocker cover and enable a standard Wraith 111 air intake bend and also air silencer to be used. A further drawing of the supports for the air silencer will be made and issued later. To allow for the fitting of the packing washer between the carburetter and inlet pipe, it is necessary to fit a longer wire link for the throttle closing spring in order to avoid over stressing the spring. The mechanical petrol pump will have to be omitted from this engine, as it fouls the steering box, the Wraith 111 electric pumps should be used instead and a blanking cover fitted to the pump facing on crankcase. Owing to the difference in length of the B.60 clutch casing, as compared with a Wraith 111, and also to allow for an adapting plate for the B.60 clutch casing to the Wraith 111 gearbox, the position of number six cylinder for the B.60 engine in this chassis is 1.100 further forward than the corresponding cylinder of the Wraith 111 engine. The gearbox and also the position of the pedals in the chassis are unaltered from the Wraith 111 positions. We have in hand schemes for the front engine mounting, top and bottom water connections between engine and radiator, | ||
