RM {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /les/15/MH. {M. Huckerby} 5th January, 1938. MESSRS.ROLLS-ROYCE CO.,LTD., DERBY. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR.LESLIE. STABILISING BUMPERS. We wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 3rd instant, and note that you do not like the Number Plate Stay Fixing, so we have modified our Drawings to suit; that is, we have returned to the existing Clamp Type Brackets. This has been shown on our Assembly Drawing No.PD/EXP.4366.Rev.1, a print of which is enclosed. With regard to the End Cap Stud and Distance Piece, shown on your Drawing No.SCD.315, we note that you asked for a Hole size plus .00025" and a Bolt size minus .00025". Further to our telephone conversation with you yesterday, however, it was decided to include these sizes as maximum figures and to give a slight interference on the opposite limits. We have arranged therefore to give a clearance of .0005" and an interference of .0005". NATIONAL SCHEME FOR DISABLED MEN LARGEST MANUFACTURERS OF BUMPERS IN EUROPE | ||
