Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 2/MJ.2.2.33.

We are expecting to receive from Roberts a complete report of the running of 19-EX. whilst he had it in Paris with Slater. When we asked him to send in a Daily report we expected him to send in a similar report to what you send in on 10,000 miles tests. The fact that the car was driven by Slater should not have prevented him getting the information.

We want a report now of the total distance run since the car has been in France, and what are the snags with it.

In the last report received from Roberts on 30.1.33 in the first paragraph he says "Since the temperature has risen the starting is O.K.". I was under the impression that there had been no trouble with the starting - we should like more particulars about this.

If we have the automatic dampers we shall dispense with the Hartford entirely, we shall not have them on either the front or rear.

We should like you to get some good running out of 19-EX. We think you can do this with the staff you have there as long as they work overtime.

We expect to send the Bensport(Codename for 3 1/2-litre Bentley) to France at the end of next week. Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will be going out with the car and he will run it for about a week before he hands it over to you and he will return on 19-EX. 19-EX. car is coming back here to have new parts fitted to it and then will return to France. We hope by that time the Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) car will have completed its mileage and be ready to return.
