WRAITH FAN - FOULING RADIATOR.

With reference to RHC {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 2/PH.21.12.38., we take exception to the remark that the Experimental Dept. have not given the fan clearance sufficient consideration. Our experimental cars, including Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 's which were built by the Works, have none of them less than .450 clearance in spite of them being produced to the same drawings as production. No fans have fouled the radiator on any of these cars under normal running conditions, which include 150,000 miles road work.

The major cause of this trouble seems to be that if all the allowable drawing limits go one way we can get interference. It is curious that the fouling experienced by customers did not show up on these cars on test.
