As a result of recent experiments we are now proposing to use white metal main and big end bearings on the three Spectre(Codename for Phantom III) Cars for demonstration work. An opportunity will occur for fitting these when the new type crankcases are brought in. We attach a list of the modifications which we found necessary on the first engine, for the information of Sft. {Mr Swift} The new crankcase will have larger relief valves so that larger Oil Pump can be fitted. We anticipate that we may want to reduce clearances on the pistons slightly, and should be glad if three sets can be brought up to the grinding stage and left unfinished so that they can be available when we have finished our experiments on the piston sizes.
