Dear Sirs,

Re. Finish of Bentley Carburetters.

We have today received the 2 sample holding up bolts under cover of your letter DH {D. Henderson - Showroom} /Hl. of the 7th inst.

We like the black finish considerably better than the previous finish as fitted to the two stove enamelled carburetters.

The black finish on this part looks rather odd in comparison with the dull nickel finish on the jet parts which are in close proximity to it. Two alternatives suggest themselves, either of which are acceptable, but the first of which is preferable to us.

(1) Use the black finish, like the sample holding up bolts, for all the jet parts at present dull plated (the spring can be stove enamelled) and also for the holding up bolt.

(2) Use the dull nickel finish on all jet parts and the holding up bolt. You do not state why you have not dull plated the holding up bolt, and we presume there is some difficulty, possibly you do not like plating the thread; if this is so, the thread could be blanked off during the plating process; we are only interested in/dull plating finish of parts which are visible.

cont'd. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
