| RY/NS {Norman Scott} C. RM. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 8/G.16.2.38. BENTLEY 111. FRAME. Herewith is PD.113 shewing the modifications to the front end of Bentley 111 frame decided upon as a result of the fracture on the bumping rig. Would you please have a detail drawing altered accordingly. It is suggested, however, that as there will be at least one frame come in to the previous detail, it may be advisable to wait until some bumping has been done on that before actually altering the dies, as need for further modifications may appear as a result of the additional bumping, and then all die modifications can be done at one sitting. The frame which is about to come in will have a stiffer gusset, and additional strength may be added temporarily at the known weak point, to ensure that the frame breaks somewhere else.
