For the attention of Mr.H.W.Pitt

Dear Sirs,

Replying to your letter of 23rd August. I am partic-
ularly interested in the telescopic form of damper for the front
of the car at the moment, and suggest we go ahead with this one
first as the load requirements are less than for the damper at
the rear.

If we are successful with the front shock absorbers,
we can then proceed with the more difficult job.I think 450 lbs
at the back is rather an outside figure, although it is what we
actually obtain from our present dampers. In return for the simplicity
which the Telescopic type of damper provides I would be prepared
to go as low as 300 lbs. at the back.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
