There is a considerable feeling of sponge when changing gear on a Wraith car, particularly if the synchro-mesh cones stick, such as when trying to engage second gear from rest. We have compared the parts with those on a 25/30, and find that the shaft between the gear lever and the selector pendulum is the same diameter in both cases, but 15" long on the Wraith and 10½" on the 25/30. We think the Wraith shaft should be increased in diameter, so as to be at least as stiff as that on the 25/30. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Gry. {Shadwell Grylls} | ||
