| (2) 5. FOOT BRAKE PEDAL PULL OFF SPRING. The 20/25 has a special bracket attached to the frame to carry the rear end of the spring. P. 2. has the spring on the other side of the pedal which enables the rear end of the spring to be attached to the gearbox projection. Nett saving 1. 0. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} agreed to make design. 6. BRAKE EQUALISER. The foot brake equalising shaft which is attached to the cross member behind the gearbox is held by three brackets, the centre one being adjustable. If all three are made plain a saving of.................. 3d. can be made in nett labour. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} stated that R. {Sir Henry Royce} sch. 3162. shews this. HHC. to look it up. 7. REAR SHOCK DAMPERS. The 20/25 rear dampers are mounted on the frame by means of brackets on the bottom flange. P. 2. has the dampers bolted directly to the frame inside the channel. If 20/25 could be mounted like P. 2. we could save the cost of the brackets, which is ........................ 9. per set. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} stated that S. does not agree to dampers being fitted inside frame channel therefore nothing will be done. S. is in favour of altering P. 2. so as to fit dampers outside the frame channel. 8. BATTERY BOX WIRING. The wiring to the 20/25 battery box is completely enclosed in flexible metallic tubing, unions and bakelite mouldings. P. 2. has no such protections the cables being led from the frame channel through a hole in the battery box side. If P. 2. practice were adopted we could save: Material 4. 8d Nett labour 1. 7d Total nett saving 6. 3d DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} stated that N. sch. 3169. shews this and we can go ahead and standardise in usual way. 9. CRANKCASE. P. 2. main bearing caps are fixed by means of studs in the aluminium crankcase. 20/25 has long bolts right through the crankcase.
