I think the copy of letter from Mr. Minchin given below will interest you. B.J. [Stamp: RECEIVED 6 JUL 1922] COPY. 50, Grosvenor Gardens, S.W.1. 3rd July 1922. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Dear Sirs, Further to our correspondence re speed test of my car on Brooklands before I went to the Isle of Man, I carried this out unofficially as you preferred and you may be interested to know that the car with four passengers did 79 m.p.h. for the lap and over 80 along the railway straight. This I think is quite good. In the Isle of Man it did a lap of the T.T. circuit in 56 minutes, 4 up, this at a time when the roads were open and there was other traffic on the roads. This was considered a very good performance by those over there. Yours faithfully, (Sgd.) G.R.N. Minchin. X4426 PS. Neither of these performances would have been possible without the Hartford shock absorbers you have fitted. I now consider your cars are unsafe without them! | ||
