| 646 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les.16/JH. 4th November, 1937. Messrs. Jonas Woodhead & Sons Ltd., Kirkstall Road, Leeds.4. For the attention of Mr. Sanders. Dear Sirs, We are sending you an order for 6 pairs of springs to our drawing F.W.1352. We want these springs to be exactly to the drawing only (1) the top plates to be cadmium plated (2) for a parallell centre bolt. The bushes will be supplied by us and should be fitted by you. We shall expect you to supply the lubricant feed. Both our Mr. Bailey and Mr. Robotham are very anxious to discuss these springs with you so that we can all get the correct idea of accuracy of eyes etc. We should therefore like to know when it would be convenient for you to pay us a visit. We suggest Wednesday or Thursday next week. We should also like a quotation for quantities of 400 springs of this type. Although there is now no machining of the sides of the main plate there will be an extra cost for the lubricator which we imagine you would buy outside. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
