Re Cadmium Plating.

We have carried out a series of tests to ascertain whether the supposed alloying of cadmium and iron, effected by means of low temperature soaking, was an advantage from the corrosion and handling point of view.
From the results so far, it may be concluded that low temperature heat-treatment is a decided disadvantage.
We are continuing the comparative tests but in the meantime we think it would be best to dispense with the heat-treatment in spite of the fact that Canning's and other people suggest that it can be done.
It is to be noted that experimental pieces were given the heat-treatment, since it was beleived at the time to be worth the extra expense.
