| G.W. Hancock, Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), Indre, FRANCE. From Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. 87941 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les.6/MA.6.5.32. PETROL GAUGE. We gave Brazier a petrol gauge instrument board unit for 19-EX having an undamped needle. We have found that the oscillation of the needle on our 25 HP cars was caused from the instrument being too close to the speedometer. We have therefore revised the position of the petrol gauge, which is now immediately below the ammeter. We should be interested to know if the undamped petrol gauge brought out by Brazier is satisfactory in the new position. The dynamo regulator may still cause the needle to oscillate. Undamped petrol gauges are being used for production. Will you please bring the spare petrol gauge and broken thermometer back to England at the end of the tests, as Smith's will then replace these instruments. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. | ||
