| To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), FRANCE. 7.4.34. 28-MX. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} We have not received any advice note re. tyres. We are using our two spare wheels and have no other tyres to follow on with. I did not arrange to have any tyres sent out as I was not sure whether we had any in stock. Will you please urge two tyres to be sent out, 7.00 x 19", type '90'. RE. OIL CONSUMPTION. Our oil consumption has become alarming. We are not getting more than approx. 300 miles per gallon, although I have cut out the breather, also instructed the drivers not to exceed 70 M.P.H. The oil temperature is high even with the moderate speeds, an average of 93°C. The pistons must be at fault as there is no exhaust smoke when running light. G.W.Hancock G.W.H. | ||
