Wraith Chassis - SEC.7042.

SCD.428 - Scheme of Four Shoe Brake Front Wheels.
--------------------------------------------------

In connection with the above we are investigating the most economical way of manufacturing the Brake Carrier Plate EXS.514. We understand "flame cutting" equipment will be available at our works in the near future and therefore wish to consider the cost of producing the Carrier plates by "flame cutting" from sheet. We have discussed the suggestion with Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /APM who agrees the method would be adequate.

Alternatively we wish to compare the cost of producing the Carrier plates from sheet pressings.

Will you kindly obtain outside quotations for the following:-

(a) Mild steel sheets .375" thick and alternatively .437" thick, of suitable size for producing at our works "flame cut" rings 11.750 dia.

(b) Mild steel blanks in a ring (to make two carrier plates).

We are attaching herewith six blue prints of EXS.514 for quotation purposes.
