Wraith III Independent Front Wheel Suspension with Exposed Road Springs and Separate Dampers.

With our E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 1/MN.27.2.37 we sent to you a number of schemes to enable you to make a mock-up of the proposed independent front wheel suspension having exposed road springs and separate RR. Dampers.

We are now sending you herewith a print of N.Sch.5071 which gives details of the spring bearing plate on the lower triangle, the spring and the tool for assembling and disassembling the spring. A subsequent scheme will give further details of the top spigot for the spring and the bearing housing for the upper triangle.

We also enclose herewith a print of N.Sch.5073 which shows the shock damper, its mounting and its connecting link.

It is intended that the forging for the connecting link should be made with the ends at right angles, and the stem set when hot 150 approximately one way or the other so as to make the left and right hand pieces.

The details of the ball joints are the same as those for Phantom III rear shock damper link.
