The Chloride Electrical Storage Co.Ltd.,
Exide Works,
Clifton Junction,
Nr.Manchester.

For the attention of Mr.E.C.McKinnon.

Dear Sir,

It has occurred to me that with our new system of vibrator control on the dynamos the battery life may not be so long as we confidently expected due to the fact that the battery will never be discharged. I may be wrong but I have always understood that a healthy battery requires to be continually charged and discharged and if it is only charged and never discharged below a certain point it will not give the same life. What are your views on the matter?

We have now received the new Experimental 40/50 battery and are putting the same on test immediately. At some later date we will arrange to let you have particulars of our comparative tests.

Yours sincerely,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
