Re your memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KW.29.9.36.

The 350 francs for lodging allowance for J.A. Behnan has been made by myself. During the summer J.A. Behnan desires that his wife and three children should if possible go down to Chateauroux and stay with him.

The engagement of J.A. Behnan was Hotel expenses plus wages. His Hotel expenses would be at the Hotel de France 350 francs plus percent, the same as the other men. The Hotel expenses for Behnan, his wife and three children being more than he can afford, I agreed that the sum allowed per person should be paid to him, less the percent; actually it amounts to 385 francs therefore paying J.A. Behnan 350 francs per week a saving a 35 francs per week is made. The same arrangement was made last year.

I trust this information will clear the matter up for you.
