PROPOSED VEE 8 C.I. 2-STROKE ENGINE.

With reference to the above proposal I am attaching herewith Mr. Bower's examination of the Torsional Characteristics of the Crankshaft from which it will be seen that a comparatively small spring controlled vibration absorber is fitted. The engine will be very satisfactory as regards the T.V.

With regard to R.P.M. and torque, the following would be a useful basis :-

For 500 HP., 8 cylinders, the b.m.e.p. at 2250 r.p.m. is 83.3 x 2 lbs/sq.in.
