re. Failure of 20-HP. Side Steering Tube.

With reference to my conversation with you re the above. I have today sent to you the side steering tube off chassis, Works No.182, which has collapsed during test.

The only evidence I have on this job is that it was a new chassis and not been driven on the road, but after dynamometer test was being driven from the petrol filling tank to the Test Department, and on turning to enter the Test Department, the tube collapsed.

I think this is rather a serious matter and do not wish to feel that it is possible for us to be sending out cars which may give similar trouble.

I shall therefore be glad if you will arrange for this matter to be thoroughly investigated and let me know what action should be taken in regard to :-

(a) Future production
(b) Cars now on test.
(c) Cars already delivered.
