For the attention of Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} West.

Dear Sirs,

Following on Mr. West's call on Thursday last, and in particular regard to the question of weight of instruments, the weight of the 5" A.T. Rev-Clock is 2 lbs.15 oz., and of the 5" Speedometer 2 lbs. 14 oz.

There is no doubt that, after preliminary investigation, we shall be able to effect considerable reductions in weight, now that we know you regard this question as of greater importance than hitherto. We shall hope to give you further information in this direction during the next few days.

In comparing the total weight of the 5" A.T. instrument with that of an ordinary type of 5" Speedometer, there are one or two items which it should be borne in mind must of necessity be heavier, and instances of this are given as follows:-

Weight of Magnet as in A.T.
Rev-Clock 5 oz.
Weight of ordinary flat magnet
in another make of 5" instrument 1 1/2 oz.

We could not reduce the weight of our magnet without seriously upsetting certain of the desirable characteristics of the A.T. instrument.

Weight of the A.T. special bevel
glass for illuminating the Bentley
Sports Instrument 7 1/2 oz.
