Secret. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}. from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 1260 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}26/N.16.9.38. Car Programme. We have tabulated on the attached print the car programme which you outlined to us, and have made an estimate of what projects remain to be done to complete it, on the assumption that B.III. B.50 and Wraith 80 projects are finished in general. The table is set out on a wheelbase basis. In all, there are the following major units:- Frames. One frame of three lengths and two interchangeable front pans. Engines. Neglecting the aluminium engine, there are two engines corresponding to the two front pans. Radiators. There is one common radiator interior with three sizes of matrix. There are four radiator shells, two R.R. and two Bentley. Bonnets. There are two generic types of bonnet, R.R. and Rover type for Bentley. Bodies. Neglecting the small quantity standard bodies interchangeable between Wraith 80 and Wraith 60 there are two quantity produced all-steel bodies capable of use, with either an R.R. or a Bentley radiator. To complete the project we need todo:- Radiators. Wraith 60 - move back Wraith 80 radiator. Short Wheelbase Wraith 60. -ditto- Per.50. - add reduced Wraith shell to B.III. radiator internals. B.80 - move forward B.III. radiator. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
