We find that we have made a mistake in Standardising the increased front braking for the 25 HP. cars. None of these cars have yet been delivered. The first of them are just on test. With the increased front braking there is a definite danger of the servo coming to the end of its travel and against its stop. When this happens no more assistance can be obtained from the servo. It will occur after the brakes have worn but the brake pedal will still be 1" off the floor boards. When we adopted the increased front braking we altered one lever on the front brake equalisar shaft. We recommend that we revert to the original lever. The Piece No. of the original lever is C.53076. The one we wish to take off is C.56058. The cost of the change-over should not be very great if we catch the cars at the Works, but it might prove expensive if they get outside. We are looking into the question of increased front braking without this disadvantage. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
