X-4209 To Mr. Coverley. C. to EFC. C. to Mr. BY/HEB{H. Biraben}11/DW.17/12/20. EXPERIMENTAL X.4209. 40/50 CHASSIS. REAR ROAD SPRINGS - SEC. 7030. IMPROVED ROLLER PLATE SUITABLE FOR THIN LEAF TYPE SPRINGS. ------------------ Kindly receive herewith 2 Blueprints off each of the following :- F.8982. Roller Plate. 2 off per chassis. F.8983. Modfn.to Rear End of Spg. 2 " " " F.8994. Dist.Piece for Roller Plate. 2 " " " Will you kindly produce these Parts, and try on Experimental chassis, noting that these are suitable for fitting with thin leaf springs. The Roller Plate is designed with a circular portion fitting between the roller, the spring itself being cleared away in order to be clear of the roller. This scheme has been made to overcome the knock between the ends of the spring and the roller. Will you kindly proceed accordingly. When fitting up these parts kindly refer to "N" Scheme 661 for the necessary standard bolt numbers, etc., and this will act as an arrangement. By our memo' BY/HEB{H. Biraben}5/DW.19/11/20, we issued to you Roller Plate and Modfn. to Rear End of Spring, suitable for thick leaf type springs - i.e. those which are being superseded on Production by the thin leaf type. A Blueprint of N. Scheme 661 is in your possession, but if required we will supply a further one for you to work to. BY/HEB.{H. Biraben} EFC DEC 18 1920 RECEIVED. | ||
