Dear Sirs,

We beg to thank you for your letter and enclosures of yesterday's date, and return herewith the paper on knock measurement, which we found very interesting.

Regarding the Sound Meter, we have been giving this matter further consideration and have decided that the uses we should find for it would not justify so elaborate and costly an instrument, and hence we think a further demonstration could serve no useful purpose.

We are, however, interested in your Acoustic Consulting Service, since we frequently get resonance problems in connection with our car bodies, and we shall bear you in mind when we have trouble of this sort in the future.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
