P.100 HEADLAMPS. For some reason unknown to us, London are still ordering Lucas P.100 headlamps with 30 watt bulbs fitted. This of course is definitely wrong and non-standard as to obtain the maximum light efficiency from these lamps 60 watt bulbs should be fitted. Messrs.Lucas have spoken to me regarding this point as they have had complaints made to them by Rolls-Royce owners of poor lighting which they eventually traced to the owner having 30 watt bulbs fitted instead of 60 watt. Will you please issue instructions that in future no P.100 headlamps should be fitted to any of our cars without 60 watt bulbs fitted. These lamp bulbs are of course quite legal as the original anticipated Ministry of Transport regulations fortunately never materialised. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
