Dear Dick,

Further to our conversation yesterday I would be glad if you could let me have the running costs of your transport fleet.

What I am particularly anxious to know is the relative running cost per ton mile between the Leyland and the Bedford trucks, sub-divided into drivers' wages, fuel, oil, tyres and general maintenance and depreciation.

I am extremely interested in your oil bill on the Bedfords, because I believe I can reduce your expenditure on lubricant and at the same time prolong your engine life.

Yours sincerely,
