P.I and 20 HP. EXHAUST MANIFOLDS.

We are sending to you under separate cover the following experimental exhaust manifolds.:-

1 set of 20 HP. manifolds to LeC.2896 (E.56816/7/8) sliding joint type.

1 20 HP. manifold to LeC.2902 (E.56819) Cooling fin type.

2 sets of P.I. manifolds exactly as standard but made in malleable iron.

2 sets of P.I manifolds to LeC.2894 (Sch.1448) sliding joint type.

The 20 HP. manifolds are suitable for all 20 HP. cars from A.{Mr Adams} to K.{Mr Kilner} series. The P.I manifolds are suitable for all C.I. head P.I cars from V to E.2 series.

In confirmation of previous correspondence on this subject, we should be glad if you will arrange to have these fitted on special customers' cars and keep as careful a record as possible of their performance, mileage covered, how the car is usually driven, and any failures etc. As we have no works cars of these types at Derby this is the only method we know of getting these modifications tested. As you are aware, failures on the standard types are numerous and any information you can give us regarding the behaviour of these modified manifolds will be welcomed.

We were hoping to be able to send two each of the 20 HP. manifolds but the second pair are not ready. If you are in a position to put them on cars we will send them out to you later.
