20HP. RUBBER ENGINE FOOT.

We have made some tests on these feet.

The rubber we have decided to use is F.80057 drilled .515 free length altered to 1.100". The outer bores of the two rubbers should be coned slightly to prevent them being trapped by the distance piece when they are compressed. We think that the hole through which the distance piece passes in F.57072 should be .562 dia. instead of .515, to avoid any possibility of metallic contact taking place between the engine and the frame.

The length of the distance piece we have altered to 2.270 to suit the rubbers.

In Sch.1231 the Diabolo rubbers are shewn in position the same length. This of course is not possible in practice and we have shewn the approximate lengths that will be obtained.

We are still experimenting with rubbers but we think that F.80057, modified as shewn, may be ordered for the time being. Attached is a deflection curve of the rubber block.
