For the attention of Mr.Leslie. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter of the 16th inst., we have noted your remarks concerning the insulation on one of our tank units and regret that we are entirely unable to understand the trouble you have experienced. In the first place the insulation on a Petrol Gauge Tank Unit consists of Bakelite and Pazolin (Bakelised paper). These insulating materials are entirely unaffected by petrol. As a matter of fact we think you will be interested to know that similar tank units are being used in Aircraft machines, in the bottom of the tank so that they are continually submerged in petrol, and that we have not experienced any trouble with these. In order to enable us to investigate the matter, we shall be glad if you will let us have the tank unit in question, if you are able to get this back from France. Referring to the 3rd paragraph of your letter, we think there is a little misunderstanding, as in our letters we have referred to the electric oil level gauge, and we have not any knowledge of the special oil gauge to which you now refer. We understand, however, that you do not wish us to do anything further in this matter. Assuring you of our best attention at all times, yours faithfully, IM for S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LTD. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
