RAPSON TYRE & JACK WORKS. W. Cowen Esq., CONTINUATION SHEET No. 1

No weekly reports as to mileage run etc. are required, because 99 times out of a hundred we find that our users truthfully state the mileage run, and it is a fact that at least as regards our 5,000 mile tyres, 90% of these stand up to our guarantee.

I am positive, now that I have had 3 years' experience in making tyres, and have recently purchased the factory from which I write this letter, to make our new tyre in, I can offer you a tyre which I claim, in all modesty, to be the finest turned out in this country, and I think our guarantee backs it to be such.

Of course the price of our cord tyre is very much higher than that of other makes; therefore, I suggest that if Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd. are interested in my new tyre, that at least to start with you should consider using the fabric tyre guaranteed for 5,000 miles, the price of which compares very favourably with that of other leading makes, and is certainly much cheaper than the American. I think I am correct in saying that no less a distinguished motorist than H.R.H. the Prince of Wales was most emphatic when he told your Mr. Henderson he had no intention of using any other tyre than the Rapson.

Further, it is a fact, that although the fabric tyres that H.R.H. has used up to the present have been sold under our guarantee of 5,000 miles, the average return on all his cars exceeds 7,000 miles. The results on the Prime Minister's very heavy Rolls Royce landaulet are almost the same. Might I also refer you to the report in last week's "Flight" by Air Commodore Brooke-Popham on the magnificent results given by Rapson tyres on Rolls Royce armoured cars in Mesopotamia and Egypt.

Finally, there is just one point about the tyre which I believe Mr. Nutt, the Managing Director of Messrs. Barker & Co., has already spoken to you of, that is its shock-absorbing qualities. I have a letter before me, dated October 26th, written by Mr. Nutt, which I have now permission to use and I am about to advertise, wherein that gentleman writes as follows:-

"I have had a set of your new Rapson tyres fitted to my new Rolls Royce limousine and am greatly surprised at the improvement in the running of the car, which I very much appreciate. I always knew that tyres were an important factor in the smooth running of a car, or otherwise, but I would never have believed to so great an extent. I motor up the Edgware Road through Cricklewood and Hendon nearly every day, which, as doubtless you are aware, is in a shocking condition, and it seems to me as
