Re: Chassis No.GFT-102 - Special 20/25 HP Car for R.{Sir Henry Royce} Will you please note we have today issued erection instructions covering the above special allotment. This particular chassis is to have a universal dashboard, and we have allotted the above chassis number as it is to be one similar to the 2nd half of 'T' series and of course is being built out of its turn. We take it the dimensions will be those of the current standard dashboard, although we believe the bonnet will cover the edges of the dashboard just as the bonnet does on N.2. series Phantom 11. Will you please confirm if this is in order. We have been requested to spring the chassis for a body weighing 9 cwts. The reason this body weight has been given is owing to the fact that this chassis will revert to Sales Dept. later and will have a stock body mounted. It does not matter a great deal really whether the springs are strong or weak as it is intended that the body will be transferred to its proper special chassis when we get the car back from Park Wards. Will you please make special note that delivery of this chassis is required at the earliest possible moment, but in view of the fact that so many parts are to be obtained from outside we have informed Sales Dept. that it is impossible to give a definite delivery date at the moment, and we have promised to give them definite details with regard to delivery by next week end. Will all concerned please therefore do everything possible to urge the chassis through without any delay. D/EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/ | ||
