DY.{F R Danby} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to ED.{J. L. Edwards} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} WS. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BENESPORT SERVO. On N. sch. 3610. we shewed a method of picking up the scissors lever directly so as to eliminate an extra rod to the balance lever. This scheme has the disadvantage of introducing some friction to be overcome by the pedal in applying the brakes. In order to reduce this friction as much as possible we send herewith a further scheme - N. sch. 3626. - shewing a roller introduced between the scissors lever and the servo shoe carrier. The first Benesport should be fitted up in this way. It will be noticed that the leverage has been slightly altered, and we desire to modify the rod to the balancer lever shewn on N. sch. 3604. to the type having a solid eye at each end, and no provision for adjustment.
