As we stiffen the crankshaft we are definitely finding that we need a larger crankshaft damper. We think we need about 50% more inertia, and the radius of the fabrics extending to keep their unit loading as at present with a 50% increase in damping. We think that this is a job which ought to receive attention, as we are going to live with the Bentley engine for a long time yet. (5) The petrol tank with the lighter gauge seems to be standing up. [handwritten] lighter (6) The, exhaust system has failed owing to the downtake pipe being lagged and being in mild steel. We are sending out a Staybrite pipe.
