We have spent approximately a day on tuning the engine and eliminating the misfiring trouble that Waller complained of before he left. There were bad misfires on pick-up from 5 MPH. to 30 MPH. This was solely due to plugs. The present KLG 850 A plugs have done a considerable number of miles, and in order to avoid future trouble during our comparison tests, we have fitted a set of new plugs Lodge X 323 belonging to 32 EX. Uneven idling has been cured by careful adjustment of the throttle edge idle jet. The engine is now running perfectly under all conditions.

We have not yet dismantled the valves from the deturbulated head, and are therefore unable to explain the reason for No 10 valve sticking open, until we have done so.

We are proceeding with the comparison tests, and in order to obtain a true value for engine roughness and vibration, have rigged up a moving strip of paper worked from the windscreen wiper motor, and by means of an articulated pencil coupled by rods to the cylinder head, can get excellent reproductions of engine movement. Enclosed sketch.
