FWB CAMS HERON AIR BRAKE FWB To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to ns.{Norman Scott} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M19.10.22. "HERON" FOUR WHEEL BRAKES X.4550. We send herewith No.sch.1340 shewing the proposed adjustment on the cams of the front wheel brakes. This is necessary on the air brakes and seems to be desirable on the servo system. It will be noticed that the camshaft has been increased in diameter from .750 to .875 to accommodate the castellations and screw threads, also we should like to increase the gauge of the brake carrier hub from 10 SWG. to 8 SWG. if this latter is possible without scrapping existing pieces, if not, the first pieces should be made of the lighter gauge.
