EAC.2. chassis seems now in this specimen in every equal to the 40/50 HP., even without the improvements in hand, and definitely superior in power, acceleration, silence, and smoothness. The defects in the slow running appear to be cured by the use of the smaller throat, and the car tested down here was quite up to our best 40/50 standard in this respect. This agrees with our recent experience with the brown Goshawk. I am pleased that we have been able to get good slow running without further complication in the carburation system. It was agreed that the opening of the throttle by the accelerator pedal was rather sudden when picking up from 10 m.p.h., requiring some care to avoid too much vigour in the first picking up of the engine. We can toggle one of the levers on this control to give a more gradual start to the movement of the throttle. The hand control was incorrectly fitted. The petrol connection to the float chamber is badly arranged: it should be altered. This point was worse on the car we inspected than it will be on a correct EAC.2. because it had an engine with short connect- ing rods, and a new long induction pipe, but still may require altering, even when proper parts are used.
