S/W. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Bonnets & Radiators. Some little time ago, arising out of the suggestion I made, R.{Sir Henry Royce} agreed to let West WitteringHenry Royce's home town get out some designs of bonnets and radiators, the points to achieve being:- (1) Raised side hinge without raising the centre hinge. (2) No rivets. (3) Less projection of the radiator tank above the bonnet. In connection with this matter I believe West WitteringHenry Royce's home town asked you whether you could fit up a tapered radiator, which was believed to be in existence, for us to look at on a present Phantom. The idea was that we would modify the scuttle back to its original form to enable us to look at the car with a tapered radiator. I expect you have been so busy with other matters that it has not been possible to do very much in regard to the above, but I should be glad if you would let me know what the position is and when we could see it.
