Type B.3. 40 m/m Gun Mounting.

Herewith blueprint of QR.257, giving particulars of trunnion pin assembly to cradle.

These figures were arrived at and agreed to by the LMS during a discussion at their Works yesterday.

Their stock of trunnion pins is very small as they are held up for material, and in consequence only a few will require modifying. The mounting cradles in stock will be set up again and checked over to our dimension.

The seven mountings which have already been delivered will possibly have to remain as they are, as some difficulty will be experienced in locating them.

In connection with these mountings, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} will notify the Admiralty of our intentions, in order that a decision can be made whether or not the modification be retrospective or commence at No.8 mounting.
