Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}5/ET.31.8.33 - 2 - BRAKES In wet weather, the brakes squeak. After the first 500 miles, the brakes began to thud. GENERAL I found it rather tiring, at the end of a long run, to drive this car. I think this was because of the position of the driving seat which is too far from the steering wheel. On one occasion, the engine refused to start; I eventually found this due to moisture or oil on the points of the make and brake. This was remedied after I had cleaned the points. The oil consumption seemed to be very good. I added one pint to the crank case and when I left the car, the oil gauge indicated that the crank case was up to its full level. The water consumption appeared to be nil. A very unpleasant feature of this car after it got hot, especially at high speeds, was the disagreeable fumes which I noticed from the driving seat and which probably causes one to be more tired than anything else. The side ventilators do not appear to be of any use. "Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}5" | ||
